Frequently Asked Questions

For your convenience, we put together a list of some commonly asked questions that comes across when searching for the perfect photographer. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email us directly at chongchoi@live.com.

General Questions

Q. Will we get every image you shoot?

On a full day traditional wedding, we will shoot anywhere between 1000-3000 images, but not every image is delivered. A lot of images in this sequence are sequence bursts (to make sure to capture that right candid moment), or light settings, out takes, etc. In our post-production process, we aim to narrow these images down to deliver roughly around 600 images or so that best tells your wedding day story.

Q. Do you do destination weddings?

We absolutely love to travel! For that reason, we aim to price competitively with local photographers your destination area. For more details, please email us directly.

Q. Who will be photographing my wedding?

Chong, is the head photographer but we do have a few in-house associate photographers and assistants that we shoot with regularly. Dates are not double booked with weddings to give your wedding our full attention and efforts.

Q. Can I get the RAW files of the images?

Our standard packages does not include RAW images (please don’t confused RAW images with High Resolution Images!), as we believe that by delivering RAW images, we are delivering an unfinished product. Our finalized images are shot with that specific “look” in mind, and therefore the RAW files will not be a representation of our final work. However, we do offer RAW files as an add-on to or packages for a fee and with a limited license.

Q. Do you offer other services, such as Headshots or Event Photography?

We certainly do! Please send us an email with your inquiry!

Q. What kind of equipment do you use?

We have a range of equipment as well as backups for each component to ensure that we can handle any lighting conditions or possible equipment accidents. Having said that, we primarily shoot on Canon 5d Mark III’s and Mark II’s, and we have a 5dc and 70d as backup. Our lenses include: Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 VC, Canon 16-35mm f2.8 II, Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art, Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art, & Canon 85mm f1.8. For flashes, 4x Yongnuo 560iii,1x Yongnuo 560iv, Canon 580ex II, Canon 430ex, & 600W Strobe.

While we don’t use every piece of gear at every wedding, we like to be prepared and to use the best tools based on the situation. Dark ceremony and reception venues are absolutely no issue for us, as we have high low-light performing cameras for ceremonies to remain unobtrusive without using camera flash, and have a variety of flashes to use with ambient settings to light a reception venue.

Wedding Day Questions

Q. How much time should I set aside for wedding day portraits?

Although we tend to shoot a photo-journalistic style throughout the day, we do have a preferred set time available when shooting certain moments throughout the day to ensure we get everything we need. Most importantly, we suggest having the couples portrait session before the ceremony, and to allot anywhere between 1-2 hours for the portraits.

Q. How are package hours charged/counted?

If your package comes with up to 8 hours wedding day coverage, we will start by asking what time you would want us to start, whether it be starting at a bridal prep, the ceremony, etc. Say if you choose for us to be there at 10am, we will normally arrive about 30 minutes earlier, but will not count that towards your package hours. Instead, the coverage time will be from 10am – 6pm.

Q. What happens if we need you for additional hours on our wedding day?

We understand that delays happen on weddings, and we definitely are not packing up before we have confirmed with you on making sure everything is covered. We bill in 1 hour increments, and you can let us know on your wedding day how much longer we’d be needed. The additional hours will be invoiced after the wedding.

Post Wedding Questions

Q. When can we expect our pictures?

Typically, it takes anywhere between 2-12 weeks to edit the photos, depending on if your wedding is a single day, half day, or multi day wedding. On average (for traditional weddings), it takes about 4-6 weeks for us to edit, upload, and deliver all the images through our online gallery.

Q. How will the pictures be delivered?

Our main two ways of delivery are by online album and custom wedding DVD. All of our packages include high resolution images via online album, which you can download as a ZIP file through our proofing website. We also offer custom wedding DVDs that include high resolution images if desired.
